In October 2024, Cyprus achieved a historic milestone in its tourism sector, welcoming 459,106 visitors—the highest number ever recorded for this month. This figure represents a 7.7% increase compared to October 2023 and a 5.2% rise from October 2019, the latter being the last full year before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The United Kingdom remained the leading source of tourists, contributing 36.3% (166,588 visitors) of the total arrivals. Following the UK, Poland accounted for 8.1% (37,010 visitors), Germany 7.6% (34,822 visitors), Israel 5.2% (24,088 visitors), and Sweden 4.1% (18,713 visitors).
This surge in tourism is not an isolated event. August 2024 also saw record-breaking numbers, with 554,923 tourists visiting the island, marking a 0.2% increase from August 2019. Cumulatively, from January to October 2024, Cyprus hosted approximately 3.73 million tourists, reflecting a 4.6% year-over-year growth and nearing the peak figures of 2019.
These achievements underscore Cyprus’s resilience and appeal as a premier travel destination, successfully attracting visitors from diverse international markets.
